How to Code for Beginners: Best Ways to Learn How to Code

Since Internet technologies is the most promising field with lots of well-paid jobs, a huge number of people who want to be involved in the programming constantly rises. Many different resources on the Internet promise fast ad easy learning to beginners that they can get with coding classes online or by practicing how to code themselves with other programmers’ codes. Some people say that these learning approaches work just fine and you actually can learn how to code with online classes that teach coding websites. What other tips and hints out there for newbies to help them learn how to code?

Learning how to code can be easy if you start right and know exactly what to do to move to the right direction towards your goal of coding websites with your own coding skills. Read through the following hints that actually come from experienced programmers and make a note of it:

Learn how to code through examples and patterns because it’s much faster instant gratification than just reading and trying to absorb. Taking a class is even better!

Don't worry too much about the tools used for coding websites. Use IDE (or Integrated Development Environment), frameworks, operating systems, and etc., and turn to your mentors, friends, or communities for tips or advice in case you can’t crack something.

Pick a language that your peers or mentors use. Don't worry too much about what language you first start out with, you don't have to end with it. Lots of programmers prefer Python, science it’s a language that was just made for trying stuff and hacking around.

Find peers. It's important to work with others learning to program especially those who are only slightly ahead of you. They can tell you their stumbling blocks and hard-learned lessons because they remember it much clearer than your mentors.

Ask tons of questions! Don't hesitate!  Even though some of your questions might seem dumb or stupid to you, don’t be afraid to be annoying to your mentors. Don't be afraid to look stupid or dumb! Odds are they don’t think the same way as you do about your “how to code” questions. Plus, it pays off to jump in at every opportunity. The only way out of being a beginner and learn how to code is to ask questions anyways.
Go to conferences/meetups related to what you want to build. It's very motivating seeing what's close to the finish line because that reminds you how awesome and fun it will be later in your programming journey. Also, it helps immerse you into the language and culture of programming.
Go to those iPhone/iPad game conferences or security hackathons. Visit a meetup at Twitter, Facebook, or Google, they're all open whoever signs up!
After you’ve learned how to code, don’t be afraid to start building stuff. You need to jump on this bandwagon and actually start coding websites with your own hands. This is the most important thing to do. Start with small things like building little cute web-apps or silly scripts for fun, but do it with enthusiasm, confidence, appetite. Enjoy programming and make it super fun. It will be fun when you’ll see actual results and realize that you can do useful stuff with it. After a few online coding classes or so, you can already start coding websites and building really fun and interesting things!
